So on Friday it was the Ronald McDonald House Charities ‘Evening in Wonderland’ Gala event which took place at The Point, Old Trafford Cricket Ground, Manchester.

RMHC are an independent charity providing FREE home from home accommodation for families with poorly children in specialist hospitals in the UK & around the world.  The Manchester House has 65 bedrooms which opened 9 years ago & during that time it has offered support to 1000’s of families.

The venue was beautifully decorated in the ‘Alice in Wonderland’ theme with the amazing LS Theatre Production who entertained everybody with there beautifully made costumes & different acts throughout the night. This was a real theatrical performance from start to finish with the cast interacting with everybody who attended.

Bruce Turner & Ben Cajee hosted the event & did an amazing job with great chemistry.

My involvement with RMHC started in 2020 when I met Lisa Dunnington through a friend Toni Riddick – see ‘#saveourchildren’ blog. I have since become friends with many of the Manchester House team & feel I am part of the family.

Last year my art donation helped raise £750 in the live online virtual charity event – see ‘200K Raised for the RMHC’ blog.

This year I donated 3 pictures. The ‘CR7’ Ronaldo piece raised £400 on the online bidding whilst the ‘Manchester City’ & ‘Alice in Wonderland’ pieces both auctioned in collective packages for £4,500. 

Fridays Gala helped raise an amazing £258k in one night through everyone’s donations, bidding & pledges.

This money will help provide so many families with free home from home accommodation when they have a poorly child who has to stay over in hospital. It means so much to these familes who are facing their worst nightmare & the money raised can make it that little bit easier.
