On Saturday I had my first Exhibition at the Festival of Transport which I was asked to showcase some of my artwork.

I was contacted a couple of months ago & asked to create an image which celebrated 175 years of Furness Railway & Lakes line.

The image itself shows in the number 1, Grange-Over-Sands 1800s, 7, mid 1900s, 5, current images of the train lines, and finally an old map as the backdrop. I wanted to show a visual timeline of then till now.

It was a great pleasure to have been asked to create a piece of art for such a milestone in transportation history – I’m looking forward to seeing it up around the stations in and around Cumbria.

The atmosphere at the Festival of Transport was great and everybody seemed to really enjoy it. The venue was stunning & I highly recommend a visit to The Dock Museum.

The Photograph is of the mayor of Barrow Helen Wall holding the 175 anniversary artwork.

I’d like to thank Sam Newman at Northern Rail & a special thank you to Kerstin Esbjornsson, Community Rail Partnership Officer for her support & hospitality.

Another great milestone for Loveartpix..
