I am privileged to announce that i was asked to take part in a project in association with The Lee Rigby Foundation & Veterans Training Academy. I was very honoured to have been asked by Darren Wright (VTA founder) for my artistic input.
The Lee Rigby Foundation provide a support network for bereaved military families, veterans families & serving military families & are inclusive of recent terrorist actions.
Veterans Training Academy is a LGV training provider dedicated to ex-military personnel who have fell on hard times after leaving the Armed Forces & wish to begin a new career in Transport & Logistics.
Both organisations are dedicated to helping the veteran community.
I met with Lee’s mum Lynn & his family & we spoke about Lee as they shared some family photos with me. We spoke about Lee’s character & what he was like & how he was – These are the things I wanted to show through the image I created.
The piece I created was presented to Lynn by the Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham at the Lee Rigby memorial & Truck naming day at Rochdale Cricket Club.
Sharing the same hometown as Lee, this was a great honour & privilege for me to have been involved in.
Rest in Peace Lee, you will never be forgotten..
