“I don’t believe in magic..” the young boy said. The old man smiled, “You will, when you see her”
I wanted to create a picture with a magical mysterious theme to it. The African tribesman represents knowledge & understanding reaching out to the unseen. I added the small boy hiding in the shadows to show innocence & caution watching as the magic unfolds. The snake on the floor lurking under the smoke is to show that danger is never far away & to always be alert.
The scene is set in a church vestry to give it the extra abstract feel. I used the colour purple as it represents mystery, magic, wisdom & grandeur.
