I am incredibly honoured to share that I have been nominated for this year’s prestigious Butler Trust Awards! This recognition comes from my groundbreaking Neurodivergent art focus group at HMP Manchester, which I proudly created independently. The nomination was made by the Governor of the prison, and I couldn’t be more excited.

The Butler Trust Awards are the only UK-wide accolades specifically designed to honour those in custodial and the community justice sector. These awards give the recognition that often are overlooked in a workforce that deserves all the credit for their hard work and dedication. The awards are presented by The Princess Royal, Princess Anne, at the esteemed House of Lords, making this a very special occasion that celebrates the commitment and impact of individuals in this field.

To be one of around 400 nominees selected from a workforce of over 90,000 is a massive achievement for me. I feel this nomination is already a win, and I am deeply thankful for the support and encouragement I have received from certain people – you know who you are, and I am grateful beyond words.

The nominations will now be assessed by an independent Awarding Panel that selects just 10 Awards and 20 Commendations each year, making this recognition all that more special.
