After nearly two years of preparation, we are now in the final countdown to ‘A Neurodivergent Art Exhibition’. I have had a tremendous amount of support in the curation of this project and I am so grateful for everyone involved. From the sponsors, the management team at the XYZ building, to Eklectics production team (who are like family now) and everyone who has played their part on many different levels.
Although this is my debut Art Exhibition, this has never been just about me as an artist, but using my platform to raise awareness about neurodiversity – in particular living with autism and ADHD.
Speaking with many different neurodivergents from all ages and backgrounds since my late diagnosis has really helped me understand my condition. I wanted to show the world how creative art helps so many others like myself express and process their emotions – so what better way to achieve this than through collaborations!
I’m really pleased with all 7 collaborations. They are all totally different and showcase so much talent. From ages 11-63, Uk, Europe, USA, classic violin teachers, poets, artists and tattoo artists. There is a wide range of styles which I am really happy to showcase.
I want this exhibition to be educational and by using the power of art, visually inform people about the positives and negatives of living in a society that often isn’t inclusive or understanding.
As well as my art collections, and the collaborations, I have also added my tribute ‘Dedicated to Emz’ piece of art out of respect and in her memory for her mum and family. Emz lost her life to suicide at the age of 21 in 2024. I shared the same multiple diagnosis’s as Emz and there are many similarities in our stories. Unfortunately Emz story isn’t a one off case and both me and her mum Jules share the same passion in raising awareness around this aspect in society that needs addressing.
Since my artist journey began I have always tried to donate and support charities which help in many aspects of society. At this exhibition I have continued to honour this with 3 pieces of art which have been created especially for them – which if sold all proceeds will go to each charity. The charities include, The Maggie Oliver Foundation, Anna Kennedy Online and Our Dementia Choir.

Dez, I am so proud of all you have achieved, you are shining the light on those that are currently sitting in the dark with no hope. Often there only hope is to go towards an exit door that ends their life. You were my life jacket when I was drowning in grief and darkness. You gave me hope with your kindness to a stranger, compassion in totally understanding my beautiful Emz struggles. It’s a necessity for our society to start understanding the neurodivergent mind, with all its struggles and quite often, through being misunderstood,
the many hidden talents we have within ourselves, hidden through misunderstandings within our society. Brilliant job Dez.

Wow what you have achieved is amazing Dez. I’m so happy to have met you. You helped me with my charity mesothelioma by painting me a beautiful picture which I could sell. You then went on to taking one of my grandson Lennys drawings who is neurodivergent, collaborating it and putting it into your exhibition. What a beautiful soul you are Dez.
